Kendrick Perkins Says Damian Lillard Is The Best Point Guard In The NBA: ‘LeBron James Is Not Point Guard.’

Kendrick Perkins has become a famous face around the NBA thanks to his bold claims about past and current players or teams. The former Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder player doesn’t hold anything when he’s giving his inputs, most of the time making fans mad because of his beliefs. Well, Perk might have done it again when he claimed Damian Lillard is the best point guard in the NBA at this moment.

During a recent interview with Michael Holley and Michael Smith from Peacock TV, Perkins revealed his real thoughts about Lillard, calling him the best point guard in the league, even ahead of LeBron James. He said LeBron isn’t a point guard so he shouldn’t be part of the conversation.

“Right now Dame Dolla is the best Point guard in the league. And no one could argue that. Although LeBron played the point, he is not a point guard. But Dame Dolla, The way he tore up the Bubble this past season. The season that he had overall, keeping Portland battling in… you can do nothing but respect him.”

A couple of weeks ago, he said something similar, putting Dame ahead of Stephen Curry on this list. After all the things he did last season, Damian was considered the best PG in the NBA, ahead of Steph, who only played four games with the Golden State Warriors. Perkins is part of those people and he’s not afraid of saying it. Dame was great with the Trail Blazers, having a terrific season in the bubble, taking his team to the postseason.
