Kendrick Perkins Says Julius Randle Is On The MVP Conversation As Knicks Win 8th Straight Game

Julius Randle has become the players the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans wanted him to be but only Tom Thibodeau and the New York Knicks could develop. He’s a candidate for the Most Improved Player award this season after taking the Knicks to the top positions in the Eastern Conference, but some people believe he could aspire to more than that.

Former player-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins has made a bold claim about Randle, getting him some MVP buzz for his good displays this season. He has been on a tear lately and on Wednesday, he dropped 40 points on the Atlanta Hawks. KP took to Twitter to make the case for the 26-year-old after another impressive game.

“Like I said Julius Randle is on the MVP CONVERSATION. He put a causal 40 piece wing dinner Lemon Pepper style with 11 rebounds and 6 assists with W! Btw the Knicks are currently on an 8-game winning streak! Carry the hell on…”

The Knicks are 4th in the East and they will try to keep climbing positions in the next month before the playoffs arrive. The top 3 teams in the East will be extremely hard to beat but this team has the desire to compete and go against anybody in front of them.

Randle admitted that being 4th is good but they’re not done yet. This is a young team with pieces that can do good things in the league and the future looks bright for all of them.

“Fourth place sounds good. But like I said, we’re not done yet. We got a long way to go. It’s not about just getting a fourth-place or whatever it is, we’re trying to build something here.”“We’re trying to build a culture, we’re trying to do things the right way. And we have a team that everybody believes in each other, so we feel like we can do anything. Anything is possible for us.”

With the 137-127 win in OT over the Hawks, the Knicks won their 8th consecutive game, holding the longest active streak in the league. Julius has been playing great basketball and if he keeps playing this way, Perkins’ take could become a reality but right now, that is a very long shot.
