Kevin Durant Checks His Own Teammate After Questionable Comment: “We Don’t Need To Say Sh*t Like That.”

Kevin Durant is one of the oldest players in the NBA, no matter how weird that seems. He is in his 15th season and is still playing as well as he did 10 years ago. He proved that in the Nets’ play-in win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Durant scored xx points in the 108-115 win, with a sensational Kyrie Irving performance leading the Nets home.

After the win, everyone started looking ahead to the playoff series that Brooklyn won their way into, which will come against the #2 seed Boston Celtics. The Celtics lost a massive piece in Robert Williams prior to the playoff and will be relying on a big rotation of Al Horford and Daniel Theis to mitigate the loss of ‘Timelord’.

Bruce Brown of the Nets decided to point out what Boston is missing and how that favors Brooklyn for the series. However, Kevin Durant shut Brown’s comments down as an issue of ‘caffeinated pride’.

Durant is a veteran of the NBA playoffs and knows what overconfidence can do to a team. His last time in an Oklahoma City Thunder jersey reflects that, as it came in a monumental loss that completed the 73-9 Golden State Warriors to come back from 3-1 down and go onto the 2016 NBA Finals. We know what happened there as well, so no opponent can ever be taken for granted in the playoffs.

This Boston team is also extremely talented and has a defensive identity that can attack the style Brooklyn plays in. However, the Nets do have two offensive players that could win the game on their own.

Bruce Brown is a solid piece for Brooklyn, but he is the last person the Nets want to seem overconfident in his abilities. All it takes is one crucial missed shot by someone like Brown to end the series, so KD is ready to have him be mentally ready by the time Game 1 tips off.
