In an appearance on the ‘Up & Adams’ show, Kevin Durant shed some light on his current state of happiness. According to the 2x NBA champion, he’s satisfied with life right now and has no complaints about his current arraignment with the Phoenix Suns.

“Yeah, I’m happy to be alive… It was a tough transition moving from New York, a fast-paced city and lifestyle to the slowed-down pace in Phoenix but I feel like I’ve got my rhythm mid-way through the season. Basketball is the easy part, you can figure that out… I feel comfortable in Phoenix now.”

Durant, 35, is one of the league’s OG superstars. The 14x All-Star has been around since 2007 and has maintained a status as one of the players in basketball ever since. The 4x scoring leader has an impressive resume with a career stat line of 27.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game on 50.1% shooting.

Durant has repped various cities over his NBA career. He started with the Thunder after being drafted and then moved to the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets later in his career. Currently, Durant works for the Phoenix Suns who traded a massive haul for him back in 2023.

After hand-picking the Suns and building up a relationship with Devin Booker, nobody thought that Durant would have thoughts about leaving his current situation. But after back-to-back early losses in the playoffs, people began to question how long Durant and the Suns were going to last.

Trade rumors began to swirl across the league and there was even a claim that Durant himself wanted out of the Suns for good. It took team owner Mat Ishbia and, of course, Durant himself to publicly denounce the rumors before they finally stopped.

Even so, lingering doubts remain about their commitment to each other and if things go downhill on the court, it’s likely that Durant could find himself in trade rumors again.

At 35 years old, Durant is not in the best position to be moving around and changing teams so often but it seems that he’s found a permanent home in Phoenix. While the change in speed and culture was a bit of a shock at first, Durant has managed to adjust and now it’s a place he has become fully comfortable.

This is obviously great news for the Suns, who gave up everything for Durant a few years ago. While his age is starting to become a concern, he was still among the league’s best players last season and if the Suns can clean up some of their mistakes of the past, they could easily emerge as a serious contender in the West.

With new head coach Mike Budenholzer and a good season of health from Bradley Beal, the Suns are optimistic that they can live up to their title as the most expensive team in the league for the 2024-25 campaign
