Kevin Durant is one of the greatest players in NBA history, and he is proving to be an instant hit with his new team, the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns wanted their fans to get to know Durant a bit better with a quick-fire Q and A session, and when KD was asked about his favorite player growing up, he replied it was Michael Jordan

Many who grew up in the 1990s would have had Jordan as their favorite player. MJ dominated in that decade, winning six NBA titles and four of his five MVP awards during that time. Even LeBron James once stated that Jordan was his superhero when he was growing up

Durant may well be the best scorer the league has seen since MJ, having won four scoring titles, but that pales in comparison to Jordan, who won 10 of them. In fact, Jordan has won more trophies and awards than both Durant and LeBron combined, which is just ridiculous. His incredible list of accomplishments is why MJ is widely regarded as the GOAT, but LeBron’s continued excellence has put him in that conversation as well.

Kevin Durant Said Michael Jordan Is The GOAT

The GOAT debate is one that will rage on till the end of time, with Jordan and LeBron vying for the title of greatest ever. Almost everyone within NBA circles has had their say on the topic, and Durant stated last year that Jordan is the GOAT for him. As for LeBron, he called him the most accomplished player in NBA history.

KD is unlikely to ever be a part of the debate, but he can certainly climb up the ladder of all-time greats if he wins a title this season. He has had a fabulous start to life as a member of the Suns, averaging 26.7 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 3.7 APG in three games.
