The Brooklyn Nets have emerged as one of the most consistent teams in the NBA over the last few weeks. They have shaken off their poor start to the season and now have a good record in the Eastern Conference.

To be precise, the Nets now have a 20-12 record after demolishing the Golden State Warriors. It was yet another Kevin Durant masterclass that fans loved. While the Nets are dominating the league right now, and their city rivals, the New York Knicks, have also been in great form over the last few weeks.

Moreover, with NBA Christmas Day right around the corner, fans would have loved to see the two teams battling it out.

Kevin Durant’s Idea Of A Perfect Christmas Day Game

Kevin Durant-led the Brooklyn Nets may be one of the best teams in the NBA right now, but they are not playing on NBA Christmas Day. Durant blamed himself for requesting a trade request this summer for the Nets not playing on Christmas Day.

But if they were playing, KD thinks it would have been great to face off against the New York Knicks.

Kevin Durant: "Knicks-Nets would've been a great Christmas Day game, especially with the way the Knicks have been playing and the way we’re playing right now. I felt like that would’ve been the perfect matchup on Christmas. Hopefully, we can get that going forward.”

“Knicks-Nets would’ve been a great Christmas Day game, especially with the way the Knicks have been playing and the way we’re playing right now. I felt like that would’ve been the perfect matchup on Christmas. Hopefully, we can get that going forward.”

Up until recently, the Knicks were on an 8-game winning streak that helped the organization climb to the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference. So the Knicks have certainly stabilized themselves after an average start to the season.

Anyway, this season fans will not be able to see a Knicks vs. Nets matchup on Christmas Day. But maybe that wish can become a reality in future seasons. The only thing that the Knicks need to do is stay consistent.
