Kevin Durant once again has trolled Shaquille O’Neal after the Big Diesel made a little but big mistake when discussing Rui Hachimura. The Japanese player was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the 2023 trade deadline, drawing mixed reactions from fans around the association.

While many Lakers fans reacted in a great way, Shaquille O’Neal first showed his hesitation to praise Hachimura, even admitting that he didn’t know who Rui was, raising a lot of eyebrows around the league.

One of those who couldn’t believe Shaq’s words was Kevin Durant. The now Phoenix Suns superstar was shocked when O’Neal admitted he didn’t know Hachimura, starting another chapter of their beef. O’Neal had a big comeback, roasting Durant, who didn’t have a response for that.

It’s been a couple of weeks since that moment, and Shaq has changed his mind about Hachimura, who has proved doubters wrong. The Japanese player is doing a great job on the Lakers, who look ready to make a splash in the West after a very entertaining trade deadline.

During the most recent episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, O’Neal showed some respect to Hachimura for doing a very nice job on his new team.

“Let me apologize to Rudy Hachimura,” said Shaq. “I didn’t know who he was because I never watch the bull play, but he’s a fine role-player… So Rudy Hachimura I apologize I didn’t know who you were, I know you are now and I wish you well…”

Kevin Durant reacted to these words, correcting Shaq for calling Rui ‘Rudy’ on Twitter. It was a little but direct move by KD, showing that Shaq still doesn’t know ball even after he gave Rui his flowers.

The Lakers didn’t have the best start to their new era after a series of moves. They beat the New Orleans Pelicans before the All-Star break, making it clear that the second part of the season will be very interesting for them.
