Kevin Garnett surprisingly picks himself as the point guard of his NBA’s all-time starting five

Garnett’s team would face off against ‘The Professor’s’ all-time starting five for $20 million in this imaginary scenario

KG wants Wilt Chamberlain to defend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the hypothetical matchup

NBA legend Kevin Garnett is regarded as one of the best power forwards of all time. Garnett achieved a lot of success while playing at the four in the NBA.

But no one every thought of Garnett as the floor general of a team. Well, KG certainly disagrees. In a recent episode of the ‘KG Certified’ podcast, the 2008 NBA champion picked himself as the starting point guard of his all-time starting five to face off vs. ‘The Professor’s’ superteam to win $20 million.

“I’m the one, I got AI [Allen Iverson] at my two,” Garnett said. “I’m going to play Kobe [Bryant] at the three. I’m going to throw everybody off for a loop with this one, but I’m going to go Wilt [Chamberlain] and Bill Russell at my four-five. Bill Russell [can guard Shaquille O’Neal], and then I’m putting Wilt on Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar.]”

The Professor’s starting five featured Stephen Curry, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. It will be a phenomenal hypothetical matchup, but the Professor’s team certainly looks better.

Moreover, Garnett’s decision to start himself in the point guard position is puzzling. Throughout his career spanning 1462 games, Garnett never played as a point guard. It’s a surprising choice considering the likes of Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas were still available to be selected.

Kevin Garnett Thinks LeBron James Is The Greatest Scorer Of All Time

Ever since LeBron James broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record, there have been many discussions about the King’s place among the greatest scorers of all time.

While many have denied James deserves a seat on that table, Garnett believes quite the opposite.

“To average 30, this is what makes him go on top of the list to me. This s**t right here. If we talking about shot-making, we talking about ability and skill, and he’s in all of those conversations. But now, you’re doing some s**t where the greatest couldn’t do it.”

It’s obvious that Garnett is a fan of James’ ability to score in the NBA. He firmly believes that the King should be regarded as the best scorer in the history of the league.
