Klay Thompson Believes Teammate Stephen Curry Can Perform At A High Level Until He’s 40-Years-Old: “His Game Is Suited For It… He Has Based His Game On Finesse”

The Golden State Warriors are perhaps one of the few NBA dynasties we have seen in the last two decades. With the core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green starting things for the Dubs, the Warriors continue to be a dominant superteam in the Western Conference. While 2019 seemed like the unfortunate end for the dynasty, they came roaring back last season, winning the 2022 NBA championship.

Superstar and 2-time MVP Stephen Curry was at the forefront of the team’s success. After an MVP-caliber season, Curry put up some solid numbers last season, but it was the Finals where he shone the brightest. Breaking down the defense of the favorites Boston Celtics, Curry deservedly won the Finals MVP.

Klay Thompson Believes Stephen Curry Can Play Till He Is 40

It was definitely great to see that the Warriors dynasty was still in its full form after they won the championship last season. But their superstars are definitely entering an age where sustaining this amount of success will be difficult. Given that most NBA stars become role players by their late 30s, the Dubs’ dynasty might be coming to an end for some pundits and fans.

But Klay Thompson certainly doesn’t think so. Despite his teammate being 34 years old, Thompson claimed that Steph can play at a similar level for the next six years.

“I think he can do it as long as he wants. Steph works so hard. He is in great shape and he really is in great shape and he really just loves the game and he is extremely competitive. I mean Steph can do it until he’s 40. His game is suited for it. He is not a power player. He is powerful, but he has based his game on finesse, and he will do it for as long as he wants.”

Given that Curry has a game based on his shooting prowess, it is definitely feasible to think why the 2-time MVP might end up dominating the league till he is 40. The biggest question, though, will be the health of the other two aging stars in Thompson and Draymond Green. How long can Curry lead this Warriors dynasty?
