Klay Thompson Believes The 2020-21 Playoffs Would Be Different If The Golden State Warriors Were Playing

The Golden State Warriors were a dominant dynasty during the 2010s. The original core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green won the 2015 NBA championship, and the addition of Kevin Durant after the 2015-16 season helped them win two more championships in the subsequent seasons. However, the Golden State Warriors haven’t reached those heights over the last two seasons, missing the playoffs over the last two years due to injury issues.

There is no question that when they’re healthy, the Golden State Warriors would still be a great team, even if Kevin Durant is now playing for the Brooklyn Nets. Klay Thompson has recently suggested in an Instagram live that if the Golden State Warriors were in the playoffs, things would shake out quite differently.

You gotta manifest things. Speak things into existence. 2022 NBA Champs… You guys watching the playoffs? Honestly, it’s hard for me to watch, fellas. It’s hard for me to watch because I know if we was there, it would be a different story but you gotta channel that energy into your workouts. That’s called life.

There is no doubt that the Golden State Warriors would have been a very good team if Klay Thompson was healthy. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are still a duo that is capable of competing against any team, and they are the best shooting backcourt of all time. Hopefully, the Golden State Warriors can stay healthy during the 2021-22 season and potentially compete for another championship.
