Klay Thompson has struggled a lot in the last two seasons. During the 2019 NBA Finals, Thompson injured himself and was sidelined for a whole season. When he was ready to make his return, he once again injured himself and was ruled out of play for another season.

In the 2021-22 NBA season, Klay finally made his much-awaited debut in the regular season. Following his return to the team made the Warriors instant favorites to win it all. So far, the Dubs have fulfilled those expectations from the fans.

Klay and co. were crowned the 2022 Western Conference champions by defeating the Dallas Mavericks. Now, the Warriors face none other than the young and energetic squad of the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.

While it is a special game for every player on the Warriors, it is even more important for Klay Thompson. It’s a well-known fact that Klay is a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. That means playing against the arch-rivals of the Lakers, i.e., the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, is an important milestone for Klay:

“Klay Thompson grew up a Lakers fan and says ‘Twenty years later, I get to play the team I was rooting against.’ Thompson called his welcome-to-the-NBA moment when he played against Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen in his rookie year after watching them play LA in Finals.”

Klay will have his chance at winning against the Celtics in just a matter of hours. Although he plays for the Warriors, defeating the Celtics as a Lakers fan will give him great pleasure for sure.

Additionally, seeing the Celtics lose will make other Lakers fans happy as well. But looking at the current odds, the Celtics are the favorites to win the title. Can Klay and the Warriors turn the tide in their favor?
