With a trip to the Conference Finals secured, Klay Thompson was all smiles after his 30-point performance on Friday.

In a chat with the media during the post-game presser, the 5x All-Star spoke about his feelings and what it’s like to be back in this moment after all that has gone down in recent years:

“Today I was thinking about the last couple years and what this team has been through — what I’ve personally been through. And to have a close out at Chase Center, it gave me butterflies… But I just had so much fun tonight and I’m so proud of this team.”

The last time Golden State was in the Finals, it didn’t end too well. They lost the series but also lost some of their best players (Klay and Durant). In the years that followed, the Warriors struggled to stay competitive as they tweaked the roster and waited for their core to get healthy.

Once Klay returned earlier this season, the Dubs have been at full strength and have become a real threat to win the title. Some say they are even the favorites to win it all.

Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole are the best offensive trio in the NBA,” said Kevin O’Connor. “Draymond Green is the league’s best defender. Warriors have depth, and experience. Other teams have injuries. The Death Lineup is back. Golden State is the favorite again.”

No matter how good you may or may not be feeling about Dub Nation, the job is not yet finished. To really complete the season, Golden State will have to win eight more games against some steep competition.

But now with the Splash Bros tearing up the league again, the team has a chance to win against anybody and there is really no limit to how far they can go.
