Kwame Brown Praises Ja Morant While Calling Him ‘A Bust’: “Some People Don’t Like That Word. But I Know What It Means.”

Ja Morant is still making a lot of noise in the NBA this season. The Memphis Grizzlies young star is even getting MVP buzz thanks to his recent performances, thriving at FedEx Forum, and demonstrating he’s one of the future faces of the association.

Still, it seems like Ja doesn’t get the same attention that other players and that could hurt his chances to win the MVP this campaign. He has no intentions of leaving Memphis to look for a bigger market, even if that means he doesn’t get the same appreciation as other players.

People have big praise for the point guard, including Kwame Brown, a controversial figure who’s made headlines in the past couple of months. After spending several years in silence, the former No. 1 overall pick is speaking his mind on everything, including the 2022 MVP race.

In a recent video, the former Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers player heaped praise for Morant. He used the word ‘bust’ to describe Ja but claiming that’s a good word, as he knows the real meaning of it.

“You’re a bust, my brother,” Brown said. “I don’t know why you’re not getting as much shine as so many other players. But I think Ja Morant is the future of the NBA and there’s a lot of other young ones.”

“You definitely ate your weeds, so shout out to you. Don’t be confused by the title that I’m gonna put because I’m definitely gonna call you a bust cause you, my friend, are a bust… And some people don’t like that word. But I know what it means. I know what I mean by, and I just hope they start putting some light on more young brothers like Ja Morant.”

Brown is considered one of the biggest busts in NBA history, but when people call him that, they’re not trying to praise him. Instead, they use that word to explain how disappointing he was during his NBA career.

Ja is thriving in his third season in the league. After winning the 2020 Rookie of the Year award, he keeps improving his level and this season, he’s aiming higher, going for the most coveted award in the competition.

He’s definitely shining while leading his team to the 3rd seed in the Western Conference, so it’s fair to say he’s not a bust (at least what we understand as a bust). Kwame still had good things to say about the point guard, and just like him, more people around the league are in awe of Ja’s recent performances.

In 32 games, Morant averages 24.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists with the Grizzlies. He’s shooting 48.6% from the field and 35.6% from deep.
