Kylian Mbappe is firmly one of the most recognizable sports figures in the world at the minute. The French sensation was already the biggest young soccer star, but his explosive performances at the World Cup have catapulted him to newer heights. Despite losing in the final to Lionel Messi’s Argentina, Mbappe scored a hattrick, an incredible feat. And now that it’s over, he’s seemingly taking a break from soccer to enjoy some basketball.

Kylian Mbappe, like many soccer stars, is a big fan of the NBA. Jimmy Butler is tight with Neymar, for example, these relationships are quite often. And while it’s hard to tell if the young Frenchman has any friends in the league, he turned up to watch Kevin Durant play nonetheless.

And Mbappe was awestruck by what he saw, his reaction to one of KD’s epic buckets even went viral. And after the game, Mbappe was around to name his Top 5 players in the NBA currently.

“Top 5? I go LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Giannis, Luka Doncic, and Jayson Tatum.”

This isn’t a bad Top 5 from the soccer star, 4 of these players are currently very much in the MVP conversation. Kylian Mbappe knows what he’s talking about, and the King has also certainly earned his place in anyone’s Top 5. Easy to imagine though, fans had a lot to say about Mbappe’s list.

NBA Fans Reacted To Kylian Mbappe’s List Of Top 5 Players

NBA fans have an opinion on just about everything, but they are at their most passionate while discussing rankings and ratings for players. Who the Top 5 players in the league are is a hotly debated topic throughout the season, so it’s no surprise that the comments were filled with takes on Mbappe’s list.

“Mbappe knows ball.”

“Replace tatum w curry and it’s solid.”

“Man is legit.”

“LeBron, KD, Luka, only Jokic is missing on this list.”

“Man, get LeBron off there and this list alright.”

“Damn, I thought Mbappe would have more European bias.”

“Where is Joel Embiid.”

“That is a way better list than I expected him to have.”

“Kylian just doesn’t miss.”

“List needs Curry bro, ngl.”

“I’m with this list.”

There will always be fans of the individual stars left out that will have an issue with a list like this. But it’s safe to say that the NBA being as talented as it is right now, has contributed in a major way to this happening. It’s good to see global stars continue to mingle with NBA athletes, and clearly, the interest in the league is as high as ever.
