Kyrie Irving has been through it all in recent seasons, his positions on certain issues off the court have led to a lot of problems for the All-Star. Irving’s stance of not taking the COVID-19 vaccine cost him serious time on the basketball court, and things did not get better moving forward either. His early season controversy over a link to an anti-Semitic documentary had some big repercussions for Irving.

The entire debacle surrounding him sharing something anti-semitic led to Kyrie Irving being dropped by Nike. He had been among the most successful athletes in terms of selling sneakers, but the company terminated its ties with him after the latest controversy. Irving had made it clear at the time that he would continue to produce shoes for his fans, clearly not happy with the way Nike had treated him.

“Anyone who has even spent their hard earned money on anything I have ever released, I consider you FAMILY and we are forever connected. it’s time to show how powerful we are as a community.”

Kyrie Irving is very creative, and while he’s worn some Nike shoes on the court since his relationship with them ended, he’s always found a way to cover up the logo. He did it again during the All-Star game, finding an amazing way to cover up the logo on his shoes.

This is something he has given a lot of thought to, these designs have been worked on before being shown on the court. And for any still doubting that Irving made a post on Twitter himself addressing it.

Kyrie Irving Says He Loves To Create Art While Sharing Pictures Of His Latest Sneaker Choices

NBA stars have often used their shoes to send messages, considering how much attention is paid to what they are wearing. And Kyrie Irving seems to be knocking down two birds with one stone, sharing powerful social messages while also covering up the Nike logo.

“Thank you God/Ancestors for all of the protection. I love creating moments with my Art for MY TRIBES around the world. I am Hélà.”

Paying tribute to the struggles of oppressed minorities across America and the globe, no one can question Kyrie Irving’s choices when it comes to his shoes. And if it helps distance him from the company that cut him loose during a tough time, then that works out just as well for the mercurial All-Star.
