Talented as he is, Kyrie Irving hasn’t had the career he could have had if injuries weren’t so ruthless with him. The Brooklyn Nets superstar has been hurt for a considerable part of his career, missing 27%, starting in his college days.

Ky suffered injuries in his first two seasons with the Nets, but that’s nothing new for him. The talented point guard hasn’t played a season where he doesn’t miss 10 games, a streak he’ll try to end this upcoming 2021/22 NBA campaign.

Redditor “Lagooooooon” shared an interesting stat of Irving’s career, revealing he’s missed nearly 30% of his basketball career and is yet to play a season where he doesn’t miss 10 games.

Notable Information

Kyrie Irving has missed 261 out of 950 games since his freshman year at Duke University.

Kyrie Irving has missed about 27% of all games he was supposed to play in since his freshman year at Duke University.

Kyrie Irving is eligible for a four-year, $181.6 million extension & Nets GM Sean Marks has expressed that he would love to get the contract extension for Kyrie & Harden to get done as soon as possible.

Conclusion

Since he went to Duke University, Kyrie Irving has yet to complete a full season. It seems as though he has had lingering shoulder and knee issues since he was drafted into the NBA

Kyrie Irving is going to be 30 during some time this season. I just can’t see how his lingering injury issues get any better as he gets older. There’s a pattern I can’t ignore so do you think that the Nets will still have a shot at shot at winning a championship with Kyrie Irving or should they look at alternative options through trades?

An aging guard with knee problems is always a cause for concern. It seems like his shoulders are a recurring problem as well.

Kyrie is one of the most talented players the NBA has seen, but his injury history has prevented him from having better seasons in recent times. Besides his controversies, Ky’s body is responsible for him not having more Finals appearances.

He’ll try to help Kevin Durant and James Harden reach the Finals next season and win the championship for the Brooklyn Nets. Hopefully, he can stay healthy the whole season and play a key role in his team’s success.
