Kyrie Irving Reacts To Nets Adding LaMarcus Aldridge

1 Min Read

With Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, the Nets were contenders long before the arrival of LaMarcus Aldridge.

Of course, with the acquisition, it only serves to make Brooklyn that much harder to beat in their pursuit of an NBA title. In fact, considering all the pieces they’ve acquired, the Nets are probably the favorites to win it all.

In a chat with Adex Schiffer of The Athletic, Kyrie Irving gave his response to his team’s most recent signing, alluding to the extreme offensive talent of Aldridge and what he brings to the table.

While LaMarcus is well past his prime, he can still be effective at 35-years-old. With season averages of 13.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game on 46.4% shooting, he is a guy who can bolster Brooklyn’s offense and provide them with a spark from the mid-range game.

The question is, will it be enough to take home the 2021 title? That much remains to be seen — but if the Nets really want to be respected, they’ll have to live up to the expectations set by their star-studded roster.
