- Kyrie sends a message to Mavs fans after important summer
- Irving is committed to winning in Dallas
- Kyrie wants to end the misconceptions about his NBA career
Mavericks star Kyrie Irving is still trying to recover after a rocky tenure with the Nets. After years of drama and chaos, his reputation was damaged beyond repair and fans across the league came to recognize Irving as untrustworthy.
But, this summer, Kyrie seems to have changed his mindset and the evidence is starting to show it on Twitter. In one exchange with a fan who posted some of his highlights, Irving denied seeking any credit for his game. Instead, he revealed his priority is to be the best version of himself on the court.
“I don’t want any credit or validation, I just want to get back to the STAGE and WIN.”

When Kyrie left the Nets, there was much uncertainty about his future. Even for as good as he is on the court, he was a major headache for his former teams and even failed to show up to play after denying the COVID-19 vaccine.
That’s obviously all in the past now, and Kyrie did everything he could to change the narrative in Dallas, where he and Luka linked up with hopes of making a run. Sadly, the Mavs never did get very far.
Can Kyrie Find Success Without LeBron?
Perhaps the biggest stigma about Kyrie is the fact that he’s never won without LeBron James. Besides his run in Cleveland in 2016, Uncle Drew has struggled to lead a team on his own.
After this was recently pointed out to him, Kyrie promised better days ahead.
“Pin this tweet and see what happens in the next few years.”
At 31 years old, Kyrie Irving still has time to win another ring. In just 20 games with the Mavs last year, he averaged 27 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds per game on 51% shooting.
Sadly, the Mavericks have done very little to change their roster this summer, so they’ll be going into the next campaign with largely the same crew. For the team’s sake, they better hope that someone else steps up around Kyrie and Luka, or the Mavericks may be doomed to repeat their results from last season.
For now, though, it’s a good sign that Irving is so locked in… let’s just hope he stays that way.
