The Los Angeles Lakers are battling hard to survive past the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Despite strong play from LeBron James, the Grizzlies have hung around thanks to big performances from Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, and Dillon Brooks among others.

Now, with the chance to go up 2-1 at home, Lakers coach Darvin Ham stressed the importance of defending their court and playing with a sense of desperation from the jump.

“It’s the same old focus. Locked-in, communicating, and making sure we’re on top of what we need to be on top of. We can’t throw it all away by not coming out and being who we are supposed to be on our home floor.”

The Lakers came out flat on Wednesday, and Anthony Davis specifically was non-aggressive with just 13 total points on the night. If the Lakers want to win tomorrow, they’ll need a better performance from him and guys like Malik Beasley and D’Angelo Russell, who have been struggling all series.

The good news for the Lakeshow is that they’ll be at home, and the crowd should help give them an edge in the next two games.

How Will LeBron Respond To Dillon Brooks’ Trash Talk?

The Grizzlies are trying their best to get under LeBron’s skin and have him play hero ball in the next few games. Of course, with so much experience, LeBron knows more than anyone that he cannot do it alone and you can expect him to be aggressive in the right way when it’s time to face Memphis later this week.

“The game is won in between the four lines,” said LeBron. “Always has. Always will be… We shouldn’t be comfortable that we’re going home with a 1-1 tie. Game 3 is the most important game of the series and if we’re not uncomfortable going into that, they can easily come into our hometown and take the series back… On Saturday, it’s back to the four lines and what happens between the four lines.”

Clearly, LeBron has no intention of getting caught in a back-and-forth with Dillon Brooks. Instead, he aims to let his game do the talking by getting his teammates involved and doing his part to put the series away once and for all.
