One fan blasted Jeanie Buss, “The Jeanie era is defined by nepotism, cheap decisions, and poor taste. Cryptocurrency.com, banana yellow jerseys, misspellings on a misshapen Kobe statue, and now a Logan Paul co-sign. Crazy lol.”
A fan doesn’t like the fact that the Lakers have associated with Paul, “Didn’t he legit scam people out of millions of dollars total? And barely paid back some of it? This is a pathetic look.”
One fan stated that Buss couldn’t resist the money, “Jeanie couldn’t resist the money.”
A fan said this would remain the biggest loss of the year even if the Lakers missed the playoffs, “Even if the Lakers lose in the play-in tournament or miss the playoffs this year, this Prime bulls*** would be the biggest L of the year by far.”
One said this was embarrassing on the Lakers’ part, “Nah man this is embarrassing.”
Safe to say they weren’t pulling any punches. The fans felt there were better options like Body Armor, as Kobe Bryant had invested in it before his tragic passing. Another option they brought up was Coco5, as D’Angelo Russell is a partner of the company.
While you might understand their fury over the team’s partnership with a polarizing figure like Paul, the fact is Prime has become a big player in the beverage market. It has partnered with UFC and WWE, with the deal with the latter seeing it become the first-ever partner to have its logo appear at the center of the ring.
Some of the biggest soccer clubs in the world have signed deals with Prime too, and NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes signed an endorsement deal with it in 2023. The brand is here to stay, whether fans like the founders or the drink itself. Expect it to grow even more as time goes by.
