With the NBA season having completed its first full month this week, fans have a better idea of what to expect going forward. A lot of teams have either over or underperformed, and players have made a case for themselves to be in the running for an award at the end of the season.

While most of the attention has gone to the big teams like the Lakers and Nets underperforming, teams like the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors have been playing excellent basketball and putting on a show on a nightly basis against their opponents.

When it comes to scoring, we’ve seen a lot of players take the next step in their evolution, while some reigning superstars have gone out of their way to show why they are considered elite scorers. But which players are dominating from specific parts of the court?

Kirk Goldsberry created an infographic to showcase which NBA player is performing the best from each part of the court. Unsurprisingly, Steph Curry is dominating from beyond the arc, especially from the top and from the wing.

As for corner three, Joe Harris is dominating from the right corner, and Grayson Allen is doing the same from the left. When it comes to mid-range scoring, there are several different players at each position leading the NBA.

Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul are leading the NBA in scoring from the wing mid-range, left and right respectively. Paul George and Tyler Herro are doing the same from the right and left corner mid-range respectively, and DeMar DeRozan continues to show his proficiency of the mid-range, especially from the free-throw line.

As for paint scoring, Ja Morant is leading the NBA. Most fans would be surprised, given that Ja is a point guard and it is traditionally the big men that dominate the paint. But Ja responded to these fans, saying that he’s doing just fine, especially in the painted area.

These numbers are more than likely to change by the end of the season. But it is a good reflection of just how players in the NBA are performing right now. This infographic might just become a catalyst for change, as players will want to switch up their style and shoot from different parts of the court.

Going forward, there will be different players that surpass each other as time goes on. But for the moment, this crop of players is actually dominating the NBA when it comes to positional scoring.
