The Russell Westbrook saga with the Los Angeles Lakers will definitely not see a resolution anytime soon after the Lakers decided to hold onto the former MVP through the trade deadline. The team will see this season out before talks to move Russ will re-intensify over the summer.

LeBron James recruited Westbrook to the Lakers and is reported to have control over a lot of the roster moves the team makes. LeBron’s agent, Rich Paul is one of the most powerful agents in the basketball world and is known to exert a lot of power upon the team’s his clients play for.

With Paul’s status in basketball being widely known, a fan decided to shoot his shot at Paul to get Westbrook moved for himself.

Russell Westbrook cannot catch a break this season. After coming under fire almost the entire season for his below-average play, Westbrook recently spoke out against his critics and asked them to stop disrespecting his family name. But if he sees the clip of his star teammate’s agent laughing at some fan making a comment about trading him, his feelings may be hurt.

It is a very sensitive time in LA right now. The team is battling the genuine thought of not even making it to the playoffs. Without defensive anchor Anthony Davis, the Lakers have needed two 50-point performances from LeBron James in consecutive home games to will the team to victory.

While Westbrook most definitely won’t be traded for the random fan who made this joke, there is a likelihood that he is moved in the off-season if the Lakers can’t correct the course this season has been on. The return haul doesn’t look promising either, but the Lakers need to do something to help move this team along for next season. LeBron can’t score 50 every game after all.
