LeBron James was pretty downbeat after the Los Angeles Lakers got swept by the Denver Nuggets, and he even hinted that he might retire from the NBA.

The one thing fans and media members are holding on to that makes them think he won’t do it, though, is his desire to play with his son, Bronny. However, from what LeBron James himself has said, he’d be okay with that not happening as well.

“I’ve done what I’ve had to do in this league, and my son is going to take his journey,” James said, as per ESPN. “And whatever his journey, however his journey lays out, he’s going to do what’s best for him.

“And as his dad, and his mom, Savannah, and his brother and sister, we’re going to support him in whatever he decides to do. So, just because that’s my aspiration or my goal, doesn’t mean it’s his. And I’m absolutely OK with that.”

LeBron James wanting to play with his son and it being a real possibility is a testament to his greatness, both as a father and as a basketball player. It is also both necessary and wonderful that he respects Bronny’s wishes on the matter as well, though. After all, there are likely quite a few NBA players that wouldn’t want to be in the locker room with their dad around.

Bronny James Seems Set To Be Drafted To The NBA

Before his senior year in high school, there were still some doubts about whether Bronny James would make it to the league. However, it seems that this is no longer the case. He will be attending USC, a top college program, and according to reports, NBA scouts think Bronny James is an NBA player

“James wasn’t especially highly regarded early in his career, ranked as ESPN’s No. 49 recruit in his class entering his junior year at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California. Other recruiting outlets had him ranked even lower, as the consensus at the time was that James had work to do in establishing himself as a surefire high-major college player.

“Fast forward 18 months and James has shown he is a top-20 player in his class and a potential NBA lottery pick in 2024… To many NBA scouts, Bronny has solidified himself as a clear NBA player down the road.”

There is also evidence of his quality in the fact that DeMar DeRozan agreed that he might already be better than some players in the league. Bronny James has a bright future, the only thing that seemingly remains to be determined is whether he will take to the court in an NBA game alongside his dad.
