Rapper GloRilla was in attendance for the Los Angeles Lakers’ 125-111 win over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night. After the game, the 24-year-old met LeBron James, and they embraced each other.

Earlier in the day, a video had gone viral of James rapping to the tune of GloRilla’s, “Yeah Glo!”

LeBron has often been mocked for getting the lyrics wrong, but he did a fairly good job here. The 39-year-old clearly likes the song a lot, as he couldn’t stop raving about it on Instagram.

LeBron then used it as the track for his Instagram post after the game.

As for James’ play against the Pistons, he finished with a game-high 25 points to go with 1 rebound and 8 assists. He was very efficient too, shooting 9-15 from the field, 3-6 from three, and 4-4 from the line.

LeBron James Will Miss The Game Against The Jazz

The victory against the Pistons meant the Lakers have now won four of their last five games to improve to 29-26 on the season. Making it five wins from six will be a bit difficult, as James, who is now averaging 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game this season, revealed he won’t be playing on Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz.

“LeBron James said he’s going to sit tomorrow’s game in Utah against the Jazz.”

LeBron has been dealing with some left ankle soreness and now gets to rest it in what is the Lakers’ final game before the All-Star break. It will just be the seventh game that he has missed this season, and the Lakers went 3-3 in the six games that he has missed so far.

One of those losses was actually to Utah, who beat the Lakers 132-125 on Jan. 13. The Jazz had won six of seven coming into that contest, though, and are struggling as they enter this one, with five losses in their last seven. It should be an easier game in theory, but you never know.

The Warriors And 76ers Tried To Trade For LeBron James

While James was all smiles when he met GloRilla, he hadn’t seemed all that happy in recent weeks. It appeared LeBron was getting frustrated as the Lakers weren’t making any trades, which led to two teams around the league wondering if there was a chance they could land the 20-time All-Star.

The first sign that he might be unhappy came when LeBron posted an hourglass emoji on X after the Lakers were blown out by the Atlanta Hawks. Upon seeing that, Philadelphia 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey tried to trade for James.

He was immediately informed that LeBron was not available. Lakers GM Rob Pelinka then asked whether Joel Embiid was available for trade, and talks between the two sides ended right away.

Then, as we got closer to the February 8 trade deadline, the Golden State Warriors tried to acquire LeBron to pair him with Stephen Curry. Warriors governor Joe Lacob had contacted his Lakers counterpart Jeanie Buss, and she informed him they had no intention of parting with their superstar.

Buss still directed the Warriors’ top brass to LeBron’s agent and Klutch Sports CEO, Rich Paul, to gauge his interest in a trade. The response? James was not interested in leaving the Lakers.
