Nobody has been spared by the fans as the Los Angeles Lakers season has gone from bad to worse as they sit with the 11th seed in the Western Conference. Everyone from the players to the coach has been ruthlessly mocked as the season has fallen apart for the Lakers. If there’s one player who can still hold his head up high for the most part though, it’s LeBron James.
LeBron has quietly had a historic season, fighting for the scoring title and averaging over 30 points per game in his 19th year in the league. He has tried to carry the Lakers despite their issues with the roster, injuries, and more. He is still hustling in a bid to improve the Lakers by getting them a win and helping them qualify for the play-in, something he demonstrated in the loss to the Pelicans.
LeBron dove out of bounds trying to keep the ball from going outside the court and almost managed to save it. It proved to be a costly endeavor though, as he landed on top of some of the fans that were sitting in the front row. In an example of the Lakers’ season so far though, it didn’t quite work and the team lost the game by 3 points in the end.
James has not been able to carry this team to wins as he has done so many times in his career with mediocre rosters. His performances have led to some wins but only when he has monstrous displays like the time he scored 50 points on two occasions.
This latest loss sees the Lakers just about out of the play-in tournament, a disastrous result. LBJ had 38 points so his charge to secure the scoring title continues but even if he should do that, missing the play-in will be held firmly against the King and his legacy.
