LeBron James is over the moon after the Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 17-14, thanks to a last-second touchdown. Right after Chip Trayanum ran it in for the game-winner, a hyped James took to Instagram to celebrate the win.

The Buckeyes seemed to be in control when they went up 10-0 in the third quarter, but the Irish responded with 14 unanswered points to take the lead in the fourth. As hope for a Buckeyes win was fading fast, quarterback Kyle McCord led a masterful drive in the final minutes that culminated with the last-second touchdown.

James, who is a native of Ohio, is a huge Buckeyes fan and once stated that had he played college football, it’d have been for them. Incidentally, LeBron and Bronny had attended Ohio State vs. Notre Dame last year, and the Buckeyes had won in that instance as well.

LeBron James Agrees With Ryan Day’s Comments On Ohio

A few days prior to the game, former college football coach Lou Holtz had said the Buckeyes were not physical enough under head coach Ryan Day. After the win, Day fired back at Holtz and added that it has always been Ohio against the world, something James agreed with.

While LeBron was siding with Day here, the 38-year-old probably wasn’t too happy with him in the fourth quarter of the game. James was very frustrated after the Buckeyes, who were trailing 14-10 at the time, were stuffed on 4th-and-inches after calling a wide receiver sweep.

“4th and inches man! What.”

It could have cost them the game, but they managed to get the ball back and score the game-winning touchdown. The Buckeyes improved to 4-0 with this win and have a bye week now, after which they’ll take on Maryland.

LeBron James Has His Eyes Set On Winning His Fifth Championship In 2023-24

Players entering their 21st season in the NBA wouldn’t really have any kind of expectations placed on them, but LeBron isn’t like any other player. He’ll be expected to dominate on the court, and James would be holding himself to those standards as well.

In his 20th season, the 19-time All-Star averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. LeBron also helped the Los Angeles Lakers get to the Western Conference Finals, but they were swept by the Denver Nuggets there.

The key to going a couple of steps further and winning another championship would be having a strong offseason. To the credit of the front office, they have had a strong one, and we graded the key offseason moves made by the Lakers in 2023.

This does now seem like their strongest and most balanced roster since they won the title in 2020. If they can stay relatively injury-free, the Lakers are going to be a big threat to win it all.

It wasn’t too long ago, that LeBron seemed to be quite upset at the roster that the Lakers had put together, but he’d be delighted now. They’ve put him in a great position to clinch his fifth title, and you know James is going to try his hardest to get his hands on the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
