LeBron James is certainly enjoying this offseason a lot more than he enjoyed the season with the Los Angeles Lakers. The King has been living the life, spending some time in the Maldives, heading to France for the Champions League Final, and then being at the premiere of ‘Hustle’, the movie he co-produced in Los Angeles.

LeBron is keeping himself busy, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his eyes on what matters most, which is basketball. He took to Instagram during one of his workout sessions and reiterated how much he loves the grind while chilling to Future’s “Forever Eva”.

“Ayyyeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! I love the grind/work so damn much”

There can be no doubt that he loves this stuff, as that’s what it would take for someone to be playing at this high a level at 37 years of age. LeBron takes better care of his body than most NBA players and spends over $1 million every year to ensure he is in the best possible shape. He has been trying to fight off Father Time for the longest, and while he has been successful at it, the end does seem nearer.

LeBron has been bothered by injuries these last couple of years and it speaks to his greatness that he can still go out there and average 30 points per game, as he did in the 2021-22 season. That is what makes this Lakers season even more disappointing, that their superstar put in some herculean performances but they couldn’t even make the play-in game.

It wasted what will be one of the last great seasons from the King, and we don’t know how many more of those he has left in him. The Lakers will be hoping that hiring Darvin Ham as their new coach will be the catalyst for a turnaround next season, and while there are a lot of uncertainties surrounding the team, there is one thing we know for certain, which is that LeBron will show up and ball out, as he always does.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
