LeBron James is one of the best players in the league today and is well known for his offensive prowess. James is capable of both scoring and playmaking at a high level, and there is no doubt that his ability has led to him having a lot of success in the league. Even though he was in his 19th season last year, LeBron James still put up 30.3 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 6.2 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers are going to try to win the championship this year, especially after their disappointing showing during the 2021-22 season. LeBron James seems to be as good as ever.

Recently, LeBron James posted a video of him dunking at the Los Angeles Lakers recent practice, while also reacting to his 20th season in the league. There is no doubt that his longevity is unprecedented. There have been few players that have been able to last as long as LeBron James in the league, let alone still produce at a superstar level in the twilight of their careers.

It is clear that LeBron James is excited for the start of the season, just like everyone else who watches or is involved with the NBA. Hopefully, we end up seeing LeBron James play in the Lakers’ preseason games, as many are ready to see him take the court once again.

The Los Angeles Lakers Have A Much Better Roster This Year

It is clear that the Los Angeles Lakers offensively slanted approach to roster construction didn’t work out during the 2021-22 season. That is why they have revamped their roster to become more of a defense-oriented team. They have made a move for an elite perimeter defender in Patrick Beverley and signed another solid perimeter defender in Dennis Schroder.

Darvin Ham is also a defensive-minded coach, and he has frequently emphasized that end of the floor when talking to the media. It is clear that defense is a priority for the team, with LeBron James even claiming that defense is the one thing that the Lakers want to improve on during the 2022-23 season.

“Defense. And obviously, you got to be able to put the ball in the hole for sure. In our league, there’s been some great teams that can do that but teams that can defend and can get stops when needed, they’re just simply more successful in our league. So, I think the defensive side of the floor is where we’re going to be hammering home on every single day and understanding if we can just make teams take tough shots. Keeping the one shot at the goal and then rebound and secure the ball and put us in a position to be successful throughout the season.”

Hopefully, we will see the Los Angeles Lakers find success next year. They are a talented squad that needs to develop chemistry with one another, and if they do so, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them in the playoffs.

Of course, LeBron James performing at a high level on both ends of the floor will be key for the Los Angeles Lakers next year. Perhaps we’ll see the superstar help the Los Angeles Lakers get back to being a competitive team.
