  • The 2011 NBA Lockout saw players put on a show at basketball events across the country
  • The South Florida All-Star Classic was the most star-studded one
  • LeBron James was seen rapping toward the end after which he drilled a half-court shot at the buzzer

LeBron James has often been mocked for messing up the lyrics of songs when he starts singing, but back in 2011, he was on the money as he sang ‘N***as in Paris.’ James was playing in the South Florida All-Star Classic and after singing, he casually made a half-court shot at the buzzer.

This song from Jay-Z and Kanye West came out in 2011 as part of their collaborative album, “Watch the Throne.” LeBron clearly liked it a lot, and the song was a big hit back then.

As for this game during the lockout, it certainly didn’t disappoint.

LeBron and his Miami Heat teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were the driving forces behind it. They managed to rope in NBA stars like Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Amare Stoudemire, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Rajon Rondo to play here as well.

The game was quite competitive, with Anthony hitting a three-pointer for Team Wade in the closing stages of regulation to tie the score at 127. The game would then go to overtime, with Team Wade emerging victorious by a 141-140 scoreline.

Wade had hit a couple of late free throws to put the game beyond reach, after which LeBron drilled that ridiculous half-court shot.

This game took place in early October that year, and it would be a while before the NBA season began. The new CBA would only be ratified on 8th December, and that was when the lockout officially ended.

The 2011-12 NBA season then finally commenced on the 25th of December. LeBron, Wade, and Bosh would emerge triumphant at the end of it, as the Heat beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games in the 2012 NBA Finals.
