• Chubb’s knee was so severely hurt that the broadcast team chose not to show any replays of the hit

• James sent out a message in support of Aaron Rodgers last week

Athletes don’t fear a lot of things. Fearlessness in the face of adversity is one of the defining markers of an athlete, but every athlete fears injuries. Especially when those injuries could ruin their career.

LeBron James sympathizes with that feeling and sent out a message with prayers for Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb, who suffered a horrific knee injury during a Monday Night Football matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“DAMN MAN!!!! Nick Chubb. Praying for the absolute best.”

The hit Chubbs suffered was gruesome enough for the broadcast team not to replay it on national television. We have added the moment he suffered the hit, but viewer discretion is advised, given the graphic nature of the injury.

James had to send out a similar message last week when Aaron Rodgers’ tore his Achilles in his debut with the New York Jets.

Nick Chubb’s Career Hangs In The Balance

Chubb was hit by Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick as he was being pulled down by another defender. That caused his knee to bend in the opposite direction to create a very gruesome image. He is one of the best running backs in the league and a season-ending injury could mean the end of the Browns’ chances at success this year.

This isn’t the first time Chubb has had a devastating knee injury. In fact, he has previously torn the MCL, PCL, and LCL with cartilage damage on this same knee with an injury from his college days in 2015. He still made it to the NFL as a second-round pick and has made four Pro Bowl appearances and one second-team All-Pro appearance in his career.

With the injury he suffered in 2015 and the undisclosed damage he suffered tonight, it’ll be very challenging for Chubbs to return to his previous level of proficiency after rehab and recovery. We hope the best for him, as he still has a bright future in the NFL after making his first All-Pro appearance just last season.

LeBron James Almost Played In The NFL

LeBron James has been fortunate enough to avoid a major injury for most of his career, but the miles on his body have led to innumerable minor injuries over the last few seasons that keep the 19-time All-Star in street clothes. Overall, James is one of the most durable players we’ve seen in the NBA and he could have been the same in the NFL if he played that sport.

James played football in high school but would soon give it up to focus on basketball. LeBron was walking his way onto Ohio State teams as one of the brightest football prospects in the region, but he selected basketball. James could’ve played for the NFL in 2010, with alleged invites from the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys.

Thankfully, we’ve got to see James dominate the NBA instead of the NFL. The sheer physicality of the football league might have ended James’ career before he could emerge as one of the greats. Safe to say that James made the smart decision while picking between sports.
