The Los Angeles Lakers have been receiving quite a lot of hate this season, being 7 games under .500 is bound to do that to a team. And while for the most part, they have been talking about ways to improve and be better, even the most thick-skinned superstars will lose their cool after a point. Something similar happened with LeBron James during their loss against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night.

After getting heckled with something seemingly provocative, LeBron got into it with a fan that was sitting close to the court at the Crypto.com Arena and heckling the players on the home team. The altercation ended with James telling the fan to shut his a** up, clearly displeased with whatever he had to say.

Speaking after the loss to the Dallas Mavericks, LeBron clarified what he had to say to the fan at the time. LBJ explained that he has never been one to shy away from getting into it with a fan and said he simply wasn’t going to be told how to play basketball by someone that doesn’t play the sport, like that fan.

“I mean, if you follow my career, I will get into it with a fan. So that wasn’t anything out of the ordinary for me. No matter if it’s the home crowd or someone on the opposing side. If you’re cheering or booing it’s still fine but, this guy was trying to tell me how to play basketball. So that’s why you got the response. Can’t tell me how to play basketball. Not him. Not that guy.”

LeBron James is a 4-time NBA champion and a 4-time MVP, the King has been dominating the NBA since 2004 and showed no signs of slowing down. James has spent more minutes as an NBA player on this planet than he has otherwise. His team may not be flying right now, but LeBron James isn’t wrong when he says there’s not anything that a fan can teach him about the game.
