LeBron James couldn't even discuss any post-retirement NFL dreams in front of Kevin Hart without getting roasted in this new commercial.

LeBron James was featured in a new commercial for the betting platform DraftKings alongside comedian Kevin Hart, who roasts LeBron ruthlessly for saying he got an offer from the NFL.

LeBron James: “Just got an NFL offer.”

Kevin Hart: “Aren’t you too old to be playing football? They want someone who can run a 40, not someone who is 40. When the coach calls your number, you’re gonna say ‘G56 Bingo!’ How are you gonna celebrate a win? Give everyone butterscotch candy? Probably out your pocket with no wrappers, just gonna give them raw candy. That’s nasty, by the way.”

This was hilarious to watch, as Hart really tore in on LeBron for saying he had an offer from the NFL. Everyone knows LeBron has been a long-standing NFL fan and has previously discussed turning down offers from the league during his NBA prime. There’s no way any NFL team would seriously consider LeBron as a football player at his current age.

James has dominated the sport of basketball for the last two decades and established himself as one of the three greatest players of all time, if not the greatest.

He’s ramping up to enter his 22nd NBA season after averaging 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists over last year and making his 20th consecutive All-NBA appearance. His post-NBA days are still a few years away, which is an incredible testament to the longevity of the league’s all-time leading scorer.

Charles Barkley Doesn’t Think LeBron James Could’ve Played In The NFL

LeBron James has spoken about his desire to play in the NFL multiple times in the past, which has led to mixed responses. While some believe his combination of athleticism and smarts would make him fit in the league if he exclusively trained for it, others believe James wouldn’t be successful.

Charles Barkley has previously declared emphatically that James couldn’t play in the NFL as his physical advantages will be taken away.

“This dude be making me so mad thinking he can play football. Yeah, he played football in high school because he was bigger than everybody else. What’s one thing about the pros, you’re not bigger or faster than anybody else.”

Even one of LeBron’s biggest fans, Shannon Sharpe made it clear that he doesn’t think James would be successful in the NBA.

“Hell no! He doesn’t know how to get off the press,” Sharpe said during an appearance on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast. “They’re gonna press him. You’d be foolish not to press him. Because he’s gonna jump over top of you and catch it.”

This is one of those hypotheticals for which we will never get an answer. The NBA provides more security and guaranteed money to its athletes, so LeBron knew he had to pursue basketball to get himself and his mother out of poverty.

He probably could have found success in the NFL, but the NBA had become a guarantee for James when he was a 16-year-old. There was no reason to abandon that for a football career at the time, even though James was an All-State football player in Ohio.
