LeBron James Says Something Is Going On With The Lakers Off The Court, That He’d Rather Not Discuss

The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the most disappointing teams of the resumption of the season thus far. Don’t get me wrong, their defense has been stellar at times, they’ve faced tough opponents, and they were already locked into the 1st seed in the West. Then again, something’s off.

It was clear that the losses of Avery Bradley and Rajon Rondo were going to take a toll on the team. Even so, the additions of Dion Waiters and JR Smith promised to make this team even better with the playoffs in sight.

But, judging by what we’ve seen thus far, especially in the offensive end and vs. top-tier teams, the Lakers just aren’t the same team they were prior to the hiatus. To make things even fishier, LeBron James apparently told Joe Vardon of The Athletic that something is in fact happening off the court with the team but that he wouldn’t go into details:

“In explaining why the Lakers are struggling at Disney, LeBron said there was something going on, off the court, that he couldn’t control, and he’d rather not discuss. That sounds…ominous?” Vardon reported.

LeBron’s body language has showed his frustration from time to time during the Laker’s losses vs. the Raptors and Thunder. He still hasn’t fully found his groove offensively, although he’s been playing pretty solid defense.

What strikes us as a surprise is the fact that, not so long ago, the Lakers look like a fraternity. There was a feeling of camaraderie and true friendship, as they were all locked in with the goal of winning an NBA Championship. That doesn’t seem to be the case right now, according to the King himself. Luckily for them, they still have some time to figure things out before the start of the playoffs.
