LeBron James will retire as a Hall-of-Famer, and there’s no doubt that he’s still a top-tier player in this game. While the Los Angeles Lakers had a poor overall season, LeBron James still stood out on an individual level.
Throughout his career, LeBron James has been known for winning on every single team that he has been on. On a recent episode of The Shop, LeBron James was asked about the “win or bust” mentality. LeBron James responded by saying he’s “obsessed” with the “win or bust” mentality and added that he has “sleepless nights” when other players don’t feel the same way on his team. (7:25)
“Yeah. I’m obsessed with it. With win or bust. And what makes me have sleepless nights is when you don’t have everyone that feels the same way on your club.”
There is no doubt that a player that has won as much as LeBron James wants to continue to do so. He is a leader that wants the same winning mentality from his teammates, and it is clear that he is unhappy whenever someone doesn’t want to win as much as he does.
The Los Angeles Lakers have made some changes to their roster ahead of next season. They have gotten younger and more athletic, and that should bode well for their defense next year. Darvin Ham is the new coach, and he could potentially be a fantastic addition. Darvin Ham has already been endorsed by a number of NBA players, and perhaps we will see him bring the Los Angeles Lakers back to greatness.
With LeBron James and Anthony Davis fully healthy, the Los Angeles Lakers will definitely have a solid chance of getting back to the playoffs. Hopefully, we see them do so, and it’s hard to see them missing the playoffs once again.
