LeBron James is one of the best players in the NBA right now, and there’s no doubt that he is still a superstar-level player that can play at a high level at 38 years old. As of right now, LeBron James is still putting up 30.0 PPG, 8.5 RPG, and 7.1 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Recently, we saw LeBron James express his disappointment about the Los Angeles Lakers failure to acquire Kyrie Irving. James noted that he was upset because the team was not able to land “such a talent.”

“Well, definitely disappointed. I can’t sit here and say I’m not disappointed at not being able to land such a talent. But someone I had and I know I got great chemistry with on the floor that can help you win championships in my eyes.

In expressing his views on the trade, James may have thrown Russell Westbrook under the bus. Making a public comment about being disappointed about the lack of a Kyrie Irving trade implies that LeBron James wanted Russell Westbrook traded. Reporter Tomer Azarly pointed out that this is something he hasn’t seen before, noting that he will still have to play “the rest of the season” with the player that he wanted to get moved.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen this before. An interview expressing disappointment on a guy they *didn’t* trade for. And you gotta play the rest of the season with the guy you wanted shipped out.

It is fair to question how this will impact the locker room and the relationship between Russell Westbrook and LeBron James. Hopefully, they can come together in the future and avoid any conflict to try and make the playoffs and go far in the postseason afterward.

The Los Angeles Lakers Could Make Other Moves

It remains to be seen what the Los Angeles Lakers will do ahead of the trade deadline this year. A recent report indicated that the team is interested in making a deal for Tobias Harris and Furkan Korkmaz.

The Lakers, Sixers, and Pistons are in trade talks.

Pistons receive: Russell Westbrook, picks

Lakers receive: Tobias Harris, Furkan Korkmaz

Sixers receive: Nerlens Noel, Marvin Bagley, Bojan Bogdanović.

LA does not want to trade their 1st round picks.

This trade could potentially have huge dividends for the Lakers and Sixers. The Lakers would get some key veterans that fit well with LeBron James, while the 76ers would get a nice backup big in Nerlens Noel and an elite veteran in Bojan Bogdanovic.

Hopefully, we see the three teams come together on a deal in the future. This is definitely a realistic multi-team deal, and perhaps it will get done ahead of the trade deadline this year.
