The Los Angeles Lakers may not have been able to land Kyrie Irving yet, something that their big stars reportedly want. They have also been dealing with rumors that things might not be all good with LeBron James, although those got put to rest recently. However, whatever else the case, the team still has to focus on improving the roster around James and Davis.

Cam Reddish, who was a first-rounder with a lot of potential in the 2019 draft, enjoyed an interesting first few seasons with the Atlanta Hawks. However, things didn’t quite work out for him, and he was dealt to the New York Knicks last season, where he played in just 15 games and averaged a measly 6 points per game.

It would seem that the Knicks don’t want him either, with Reddish reportedly in discussions as a part of a trade between the Lakers, Knicks, and Raptors at one point last season. It didn’t end up going through, but according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Lakers have retained their interest in Reddish.

“The Lakers also have had interest in trading for Knicks forward Cam Reddish, who could also become part of a trade. Last season, the Lakers nearly acquired Reddish as part of a blockbuster three-team trade talks between the Lakers, Knicks, and Raptors at the time.”

There was a trade reportedly discussed between the Knicks, Lakers, and Jazz this offseason, but Reddish’s name wasn’t mentioned in it. He would be a quality addition to the Lakers as a young player with some serious potential.

Reddish has averaged over 10 points per game in the 3 seasons he has played, although his efficiency has been quite suspect during that time. He has all the tools to be a great role player in the league, though, and the Lakers could be thinking that they can give him the opportunity to develop and shine.
