After Luka Doncic’s game-ejecting play went viral on Twitter, many NBA fans were happy to see judgment passed on the young star.

While we’ll never know his true intentions behind the play (where he seems to “punch” Collin Sexton in the groin), Luka himself did issue a statement, insisting that it’s not something he did to cause any sort of pain.

“After I saw the video, I knew I hit him, but it wasn’t nothing on purpose,” said Doncic, who had 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists before being tossed from the game. “I think that kind of stuff happens a lot in games, but I don’t know. That’s my explanation. It obviously wasn’t on purpose. It was just two guys fighting for a rebound, I guess.”

The big question regarding the play is whether or not it was in the spirit of the game. While some claim it was a natural reaction to how the play was progressing, others insist Doncic’s actions were not a normal basketball play — the refs seem to agree.

Regardless, Luka has been doing everything he can to help Dallas continue its surge, and it seems he’s not ready to slow down just yet.

He’s in this full force, even if it means getting up in a controversy or two in the meantime.
