Luka Doncic Reveals He Watches Serbia And Greece Play Games In His Free Time To Study Nikola Jokic And Giannis Antetokounmpo

NBA fans have been thirsting to watch their favorite athletes back in action ever since the 2021-22 season wrapped up in Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. Sadly, we are still over a month away from NBA basketball returning, but we can catch a lot of NBA players in action at the 2022 EuroBasket.

The 2022 EuroBasket is currently ongoing and features some of the biggest stars in the NBA. The 3 biggest stars in the tournament are former MVP and DPOY Giannis Antetokounmpo, current 2-time defending MVP Nikola Jokic, and 23-year-old sensation Luka Doncic.

Along with France, Luka’s Slovenia, Jokic’s Serbia, and Giannis’ Greece are the favorites to come away with the title at the end of the tournament. When Doncic was asked about the teams he watches when he has the time, he told the reporter about Serbia and Greece. When the reporter asked him why, Doncic told the reporter it’s obvious why he’d watch the games of his closest rivals in the tournament.

Reporter: "If you have time, which team is the one you watch?"

Luka Doncic: "I watched a lot, but I think mostly I watch Serbia and Greece.

Reporter: "Why?"

Luka: "You know why." 🤣

How Will EuroBasket Turn Out For Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, And Giannis Antetokounmpo?

Serbia and Greece are yet to lose a game in the ongoing tournament, but Luka’s Slovenia fell shockingly in a loss at the hands of Bosnia and Herzegovina the other day. While he has been putting on a show, there have been issues on the court that Doncic needs to overcome. At least he is looking fully in shape and will carry that conditioning into the NBA season.

Giannis and Jokic sit atop their respective groups with undefeated records and their teams are proving to be genuine contenders to win the title. Defending champions Slovenia looked a little shaky in their last matchup and Luka will hope he can lead his country to repeating as EuroBasket champions, a historic achievement for a country of the size of Slovenia.

All these players are going to come into the regular season with a leg-up on the American players by virtue of already being in game shape and playing the more physical European style of basketball.
