Magic Johnson had a special wish for LeBron James on his 38th birthday and hoped that the Lakers superstar would play alongside his son Bronny in the future.

James celebrated his birthday in style by notching up 47 points on Friday night at the Philips Arena to trounce the Atlanta Hawks 130-121. His performance also saw a near triple-double with 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Former legend Johnson was lavish in his praise for James on Twitter and had a special place for the veteran.

Wishing a happy birthday to @KingJames who’s definitely on my Mount Rushmore of NBA players! I hope the dream you have to one day play in the NBA with your son comes to fruition!

James had always been public about playing with his son Bronny, who has been making ways as a super-talented youngster set to light up the NBA in the future.

LeBron James Has Been Vocal About Bronny’s Skills

Like father, like son they say in some cases, and while it does seem unfair to compare a young Bronny to his father at such an early stage, there’s enough potential that suggests that he can go the distance and taste the same success as LeBron James.

Over the years, James has been vocal about his son’s style of play and achievements on social media. Earlier this month, he hyped up his son’s one-handed dunk by sharing a video on Instagram. He captioned the post:

“Scary Hours!! “

James is currently struggling to land more wins with the Lakers, despite his best efforts. He averages 28.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists. With Anthony Davis ruled out due to a stress fracture, the onus will be on the 38-year-old to help the team chalk up more wins.

The Lakers’ win against the Hawks doesn’t change their 13th place in the stacked Western Conference. They play the Charlotte Hornets next, followed by another clash against the Miami Heat.
