Marvin Bagley On Liking A Negative Tweet About The Kings: “It’s My Twitter. It Has My Name On It. I Can Like Whatever I Choose And Please. Whatever I Feel Like Liking.”

A couple of weeks ago, Sacramento Kings’ youngster Marvin Bagley III made the headlines for the wrong reasons, as he was caught liking some tweets claiming that he should leave the team.

Instead of sugarcoating things, denying it, saying that he was hacked or whatever as most athletes did, Bagley stood by his word and said that he was just frustrated and used his Twitter account like anybody else would’ve done:

“That’s my Twitter, bro,” Bagley said on the Halfway Decent Pod, as quoted by Yahoo! Sports. “It’s my Twitter. It has my name on it. I can like whatever I choose and please. Whatever I feel like liking. That just came from frustration, and I don’t ever want to say frustrated, just that built up fire.”

Perhaps Bagley should’ve known better and avoid all controversies by simply using a burner account or not engaging in that kind of story. Then again, he seems frustrated with his current situation and just wants to win.

At least, that’s what it seemed when talking about Deandre Ayton and Trae Young and how far they got in the playoffs this season:

“As a competitor, that made me want to get to that, I need to be there,” Bagley said. “I want to be there bad. I’m happy for these guys. But for me personally, my personal goals and where I’m trying to get to in my career, I’ve got to make it happen.”

To be fair, it’s not like the Kings have done much of a job of putting Bagley in a position to succeed. Then again, he’s also performed way below the expectations and has been hurt more often than not, so it’s not like they held him back.

Hopefully, the Kings will make the most of their young core before it’s too late.
