Kyrie Irving is one of the most gifted basketball players to ever step onto the court. His skills have captivated fans and players across the world and it is well-known that Irving is one of the most dangerous point guards in the league today. But Irving has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons this season, with the turmoil in Brooklyn that led to James Harden being traded away and his vaccination status.

Kyrie has proven he is still an electrifying player on the court after he scored 50 points on just 19 shots to help the Nets overcome the Charlotte Hornets, who have also fallen into a rut.

While the world focuses on all the things he isn’t doing, Irving took to his Instagram to remind people of the things that matter to him. At the top of that list is his wife Marlene Wilkerson, who Irving put out a tribute for on Instagram.

The Brooklyn Nets are currently 8th in the Eastern Conference with a 33-33 record. The win over Charlotte brought them back to .500 and also helped keep the Hornets off their trail, as they are currently the 9th seed in the East.

Irving is still a part-time player, which is an issue when fans can see the massive impact he can have on the game. With co-star, Kevin Durant struggling and Ben Simmons yet to debut, Irving took the game on his shoulder to ensure victory for his team when they needed it most.

The Nets are headed into a blockbuster clash on Thursday when they face the Philadelphia 76ers, one month after the trade that sent Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and Ben Simmons to Brooklyn for former MVP James Harden to Philadelphia.
