Michael Jordan has an aura about him that certainly can’t be denied. The iconic superstar hasn’t even played in the NBA for almost 20 years now. But still, his presence is a thing to behold, as people take notice of him whenever and wherever he shows up. Jordan has a mystical presence to him, one that few people can deny. No external force could ever do damage to Jordan’s presence.
Only one thing could tarnish that presence. And that’s MJ himself. In a video from MJ’s summer camp, Jordan can be seen instructing the children on proper shooting motion.
But things went very wrong when Jordan proceeded to airball the shot. There was clear tension in the air, as the children were visibly worried about laughing at MJ’s failure so as to not evoke a negative reaction from ‘His Airness’.
Clearly, Jordan’s mentality has become the stuff of lore. And the kids knew that upsetting MJ would not go down well for anyone.
So they bit their tongue. Jordan’s response isn’t known, as the video cut off just as the children started to get loud. It is very possible that MJ himself laughed it off, given the stakes were low as they were at a camp. But since the video cut out, we will never know how Jordan reacted to this miss.
Jordan’s camp interactions always seem to be funny. One thing that garnered a lot of laughs on the internet was when Chris Paul challenged MJ to make all his shots, and if he even missed one, the entire camp would get free Jordans.
As a result, MJ went on to make every shot he took, leaving the camp disappointed and the internet highly amused. It was a good example as to why challenging Jordan almost never ends well.
