The incident occurred during a family trip to the Bahamas, shedding light on a unique perspective of the basketball legend’s priorities.

During the podcast episode, Marcus Jordan exposed an incident that showcased his father’s unexpected choice:

“There was this one time when we were young in some trip in the Bahamas. My dad, he was on a jetski with my sister and for whatever reason, the jetski capsized and turned over. “

When a jet ski capsized with Michael Jordan and his 14-year-old daughter Jasmine on board, the unexpected happened. Amidst the chaos of the situation, a large sum of money, estimated to be around $40,000, was seen floating in the water alongside them.

“My dad’s in the water, my sister’s floating a couple of feet away from him and you see this wad of cash floating in the water.”

“Who do you think my dad went for first? My dad literally went for the 40 grand first. … My dad said, ‘She got on a life vest but I gotta go grab this couch.”

This revelation offers a unique glimpse into Michael Jordan’s mindset during high-stress situations. It highlights the unconventional decision he made, prioritizing a significant amount of money over his own daughter’s safety.

The incident provides a different angle on the basketball icon’s persona, showcasing a surprising choice that contrasts with his on-court competitiveness and leadership.

Marcus Reveals His Dad Michael Jordan Can’t Swim

In a revelation on the “Separation Anxiety” podcast, Marcus Jordan unveiled an intriguing detail about his father’s life – his inability to swim.

Despite owning an $80 million luxury yacht, a $8 million fishing yacht, and participating in fishing tournaments, Michael Jordan, known for his dominance on the court, apparently lacks swimming skills

“I think another thing that people don’t know about my dad is that he can’t swim,” Marcus said. “He just bought a really large yacht and he’s got two fishing boats.”

“He’s always on the water, but God forbid if he falls in, he can’t swim.”

This revelation humanizes the iconic athlete, offering a glimpse into his reaction under unexpected circumstances. Beyond his basketball prowess, the story adds a relatable touch by showcasing that even legends have unique quirks and limitations.

It underscores that even the most celebrated figures possess distinctive traits, shaping a more holistic image of the basketball titan.

Michael Jordan’s Luxurious $80 Million Yacht

Beyond his achievements on the basketball court, Michael Jordan’s financial success has enabled him to indulge in opulent purchases, including an impressive $80 million super yacht named ‘Joy’.

This extravagant acquisition stands as one of the most significant single purchases made by Jordan. Notably, ‘Joy’ is not his only yacht; he also owns a $21 million vessel named ‘Mr. Terrible’.

‘Joy’, acquired in 2016, spans a remarkable 230 feet in length and boasts a height of almost 10 feet.

Inside the luxurious confines of ‘Joy’, a multitude of amenities awaits. Spread across five decks and adorned with eight cabins, the yacht features an indoor jacuzzi, a movie theater, a spa, and an exquisite dining room.

One of its standout features is the owner’s pavilion, housing a penthouse suite, personal office, and a terrace offering panoramic ocean views.

For those seeking recreation, ‘Joy’ offers a gym and even an indoor basketball court, paying homage to Jordan’s basketball legacy. However, maintaining such opulence comes at a cost; the yacht requires a crew of approximately 19 people available 24/7, incurring a staggering maintenance fee of $800,000 weekly.

Interestingly, ‘Joy’ isn’t exclusively reserved for Jordan and his inner circle. Anyone with a budget of $840,000 can rent the vessel for a week, providing a taste of the luxurious life Michael Jordan enjoys on the high seas.
