Nate Robinson Reveals His All-Time Starting Five

While Nate Robinson is known more as a fighter today, it wasn’t too long ago that he was lighting up the NBA.

The last time we saw him, during the 2015-16 season, he played two games for the Pelicans, averaging just 11.5 minutes.

While not the most impressive resume, Robinson has rubbed shoulders with some of basketball’s All-Time best, including Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and others.

And, in a recent Instagram comment, he revealed his picks for basketball’s All-Time starting five.

Here is it:

Whenever talking about basketball’s best players, it’s a no-brainer to include Shaq, LeBron, and MJ. Those three are the most dominant players at their position.

Where things get spicy is at the point guard and power forward positions.

Instead of picking Steph Curry or Magic Johnson, Nate decided to have LeBron step into the role instead. While James has played most of his career as a forward, he’s become quite the playmaker at this stage of his career, commanding the offense and controlling the ball.

With the Lakers especially, James has emerged as a really talented floor general — so much so, that some are already calling him the best at the position.

“Even LeBron in decline is better than anyone else. Maybe. But they’re gonna prove it in the playoffs. Harden’s gonna prove it in the playoffs. (…) LeBron, I’ve seen him shut down Derrick Rose at MVP level. I’ve seen LeBron shut down elite guards in playoffs games. Everyone on my list defends backcourt players routinely, initiates the offense and is the primary ball-handler playmaker. I think LeBron James is not only the greatest point guard today, but in fact, he’s the guy who will replace Magic as the greatest point guard of all time. If you’re making your all-time list, you put LeBron at the point guard.”

As for KG, it’s definitely an interesting choice, all things considered. LeBron could have easily slid into this role as well, so it’s interesting (but understandable) that Robinson chose to go with Garnett.

Nevertheless, it’s a solid list from a very solid individual. Hopefully, we’ll get to hear more from him in the future.
