The Los Angeles Lakers had a forgettable 2021-22 NBA season. The team was far from what the fans expected it to be before the start of the season. And one of the biggest weaknesses of the Lakers was their performances on the defensive end of the court.
More often than not, the Lakers were getting outscored by their opponents due to lousy defense. Fortunately, the Lakers have started to make a few amends to improve their weakness.
The biggest that the Purple and Gold has taken this season is trading for Patrick Beverley. Beverley is known for his gritty defense and being able to defend even the best players in the league when required.
However, the biggest problem after Pat Bev has signed with the Lakers is whether he will get along with Russell Westbrook or not. The two have had beef that has lasted for years, and now they are suddenly teammates. While this might be fun to think about, Lakers fans will certainly hope that Russ and Beverley can find a way to coexist together on the team and play well.
But if history is any indication, it’ll be a tough task. After all, Russ once went as far as saying that Pat Bev simply fooled everyone into thinking that he was a great defender.
