NBA Fans Blast Journalist After He Said Stephen Curry Is The Best Player In The World: “He Never Won Without The Superteam”

Great as he is, Stephen Curry is always part of controversial debates. The Golden State Warriors superstar is a total legend right now after changing the game of basketball with his 3-point shooting. Even after that, he has gained some enemies within the NBA community that don’t appreciate his greatness.

During and after Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Finals, fans once again criticized Steph for losing his rhythm when his team needed him the most. He had a terrific first quarter, making six 3-pointers, but then vanished. He recovered his level in the 3rd quarter, but things went south again in the 4th.

Prior to this collapse, NBA analyst Ben Stinar had big praise for the Chef, calling him the best player in the world on Twitter, and asking people what argument they had against the player.

What argument is there that Steph Curry isn’t the best player in the world?

You give him a competent roster and he has you in the NBA Finals every season.

We are watching a top/5 player to ever play the game.

After the game was over, many fans reacted to the tweet and blasted Stinar for his hot take. Many said that Curry being unable to lead his team to win like they did when Kevin Durant was around will be held against him, while others trashed Curry for last night’s performance.

I love Steph but he ain’t top 5 and never will be and that’s okay. Still an all time elite player.

Has he ever in the finals without a competent roster? Has he ever won a championship without being the favorite? Has he ever been a FMVP? There are question marks, however I root for Worriors to win this series.

Not gonna debate Steph's talent, but it's those intangibles. Not saying he's not a good teammate, but to be top 5 he has to be a great teammate who brings out the best in those around him.

Even though he finished the match with 34 points, he vanished when the Dubs were getting dominated by the Celtics. He has been heavily criticized for that in the past, and this season should be the one when he changes that narrative. Steph is great, we already know that, but if he wants to secure that Finals MVP, it’s time to show up in crunch time and lead his team to big wins against the hardest rival they’ve faced this season.
