Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time and one of the most accomplished superstars that the sport has ever seen. He has shattered many 3PT shooting records, won championships, and led the league in scoring.
One missing thing from Stephen Curry’s accomplishments is a Finals MVP. Generally, the Finals MVP will go to the best player on the championship-winning team due to their greatness on the highest stage. However, Stephen Curry does not have one. In 2015, it went to his veteran teammate, Andre Iguodala. In 2017 and 2018, superstar teammate Kevin Durant garnered those Finals MVP honors.
Jeremy Lin has recently claimed that Stephen Curry doesn’t need a Finals MVP to validate what he has done during his career. There’s no doubt that Stephen Curry has changed the game of basketball itself and has cemented his place in basketball history.
I hope Steph Curry wins the championship and finals MVP. But make no mistake about it, he does NOT need a finals MVP to validate his career by any means

If Stephen Curry manages to win the 2022 Finals and perform at a high level, then he will most likely win the Finals MVP. However, Finals MVP or not, Stephen Curry is a fantastic player that has performed pretty well on the highest stage. He is one of the 5 players that managed to average 25 PPG, 5 RPG, and 5 APG over the course of an entire Finals series, being on that list with Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant.
The Golden State Warriors lost Game 1 at home, and there’s no doubt that this is not the beginning that they wanted in this Finals series. However, they will have a chance to bounce back in Game 2, and even up the series. We’ll see if they are able to do so, and avoid being down 0-2.
