When we talk about the best defenders of our generation, the name of Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green can never be left off the list. Throughout his career in the NBA, Green has fulfilled his role of being a top defender for the Dubs with utmost dedication.

As a result, Green has played a crucial role in the three NBA Championships that the Warriors won in the last decade. Now, after making their sixth NBA Finals appearance in the last eight years, the Dubs have a chance at winning their fourth ring.

This time around, the Stephen Curry-led squad is facing one of the best defensive teams in the league this season. Yes, the Boston Celtics have made their money this season by playing incredible defense.

So Dray playing well is quite crucial for the Warriors. But this season, Green hasn’t been as consistent with his defense as fans would have hoped for him to. That proved once again in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, where Green proceeded to set up three consecutive illegal screens.

The surprising aspect of these plays was the fact that Green wasn’t called for a foul by the refs. Evidently, many fans were pissed at it and took out their frustration in the form of comments below the above-attached tweet.

All I see is celtics defenders purposefully walking in front of him and throwing their stomachs into his hands 😬

Draymond also tackled Derrick White and Grant Williams and both were called blocks. I just don’t know what the refs are seeing

Most fans were frustrated with the refs for not calling a foul on Green. On the other hand, many trolled Dray by saying that he is simply playing football instead of basketball. Although there were not many, a few fans also defended Green as they pointed out these weren’t illegal screens at all.

Whether these were illegal screens or not was up to the refs to decide and they decided those attempts were legal.

Currently, the series is tied at 1-1, so the next game will be quite important as to which team will take the lead in the series and get one step closer to winning the 2022 NBA Championship.
