LeBron James is in the 19th of his long career and is still playing like one of the best players in the league. It is truly a testament to how well he has taken care of his body to last this long in the best basketball league in the world.

Despite James’ insane performance, the Los Angeles Lakers are not the favorites to win this year’s NBA season. In fact, NBA analyst Jalen Rose recently made a statement about why the Lakers aren’t the favorites to win the championship.

Although there is still some time for them to turn their season around, there is no certainty of it happening. Regardless, there is still an argument for LeBron to win the fifth regular-season MVP of his career.

One might even say that James should’ve already won that accolade once again if it weren’t for voter fatigue. Anyway, coming back to the topic, just looking at his averages this season is more than enough to make a case for him winning the MVP.

As of now, he is maintaining an average of 28.6 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 6.4 APG. On top of that, he is shooting 52.0% from the field and an acceptable 37.0% from the 3-point line. What else does he need to do to get the recognition that he deserves to carry the Lakers on his back? Well, the Twitter account “Hoop Central” asked this question in a recent tweet.

The tweet asked made a statement that LeBron James will win the MVP award this season and followed it with a true or false answer from fans. Of course, many NBA fans across the globe chimed in their thoughts about this debate.

While a handful of fans believe that LeBron should win the MVP, most do not believe in that. The reason is quite obvious, the Lakers are struggling this season, which hurts his chances of winning the award.

If James can manage to continue his form throughout the remaining season, while helping the Lakers squeeze inside the top-4 then he might have a shot at winning it. At the end of the day, just being in the conversation to win the MVP award in his 19th season is an achievement on its own.
