NBA Fans Debate Which Player Would Be Benched Between Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, Anthony Edwards, And LaMelo Ball: “Zion But Only Cuz He Don’t Play.”

3 Min Read

The one thing fans often say in recent times is how the future of the league is in great hands. The NBA is chock full of talents for the future, players that look like they can match and maybe even surpass the greats that have come before. The league has multiple players that are arguably already superstars before the age of 25. Luka Doncic, Trae Young, and Ja Morant being the primary names that spring to mind.

These stars have already led their teams to victories in the playoffs, and Young and Doncic’s case, taking their teams to the Conference Finals. Anthony Edwards is not too far behind, he’s looking to join that list next season and even better it. Zion Williamson has only been hampered by injuries, while LaMelo Ball has shown flashes of having an all-around game that anyone would want to have.

It’s impossible to call what the careers of these players are going to be like; there are too many unknown factors to reach any sort of decent conclusion. But they already have some traits that distinguish them from the rest of the pack. So when the question arose on Twitter asking which of these 6 would be benched if fans had to pick just 5, the answers were as varied as they were interesting.

“How can anyone say take Ja off????”

“Zion but only cuz he don’t play.”

“These are normally hard but this is EASY. Zion is out.”

“LaMelo, take a seat, son.”

“Y’all really gonna act like Anthony Edwards is in this conversation already?”

“Smh, y’all asleep on my boy Zion, he’s gonna remind y’all this season.”

“This might be controversial, idgaf, Trae gotta go, no defense.”

“Disrespectful to Luka to imply he could be benched here.”

“Luka is in a different league to these cats bro.”

“I’ll take Darius Garland over Ball.”

“It between Ant and Lamelo. Whoever you pick yo sit I’m aight with it. Personally, Ant gotta go.”

“There is not a starting 5 in this photo.”

“Tbh this is a lot tougher than y’all are trying to make it sound.”

There can never be a right answer to these questions, they are deeply subjective and depend on the people answering them. But the fact that many fans have Ja Morant and Luka Doncic clearly in the Top 5 in the list shows that the two are perhaps ahead of their peers, along with Trae Young. These players are the future of the league, and this is likely not the last debate we’ll see surrounding them in the coming years.
